✨THIS was a unique and introspectively moving experience.✨ Another repost from my @blacktheatreunited fam featuring a recent trip a handful of us took to visit the site of the #TulsaRaceMassacre :: Today on Human Rights Day, where this year’s United Nations General Assembly theme is “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All,” we honor the survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre as we visited them this past Wednesday with @business_for_good_ founders Ed & Lisa Mitzen (@lisamitzen). For myself, @mslachanze & @vanessawilliamsofficial it was a “humbling, emotional, and inspiring day.” As members of the Black theatre community, we stand together to help protect Black people, Black theatre, and Black lives of all shapes and orientations in communities across the country. Our voices are united to educate, empower, and inspire through excellence and activism in the pursuit of justice and equality. We will tell our stories, preserve our history, and ensure the legacy of Black theatre as American culture. This is one of our stories. This is our history.
