*sappy post ahead* Happy 10th anniversary to @newsies, the show that quite literally changed the trajectory of my life. I had no idea that walking into the Nederlander Theater in August 2013 would change me, make me realize what I wanted to do with my life. By intermission I was speechless, looking around to see if everyone else was seeing what I saw. I left the theater that night completely changed and filled with purpose. Flash forward to now: I’ve been living in the city for almost 6 years, pursuing my dreams of being onstage and filling people with the same joy that I witnessed back in 2013. Watching those boys having the time of their lives, playing and dancing with each other, I knew I wanted to do the same. So much has happened and so much has changed in the last 10 years, but what hasn’t is my love for this show and these people. I couldn’t stop smiling last night, feeling like I was the girl sitting at her computer in 2014, watching every Newsies clip she could find on YouTube and dreaming of being like them someday. Being in the room with these people and sharing our love for this show that changed all of our lives was such a dream come true. Happy 10th anniversary, Newsies. Thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do for me and for so many others. I love you forever. Newsies forever, second to none 📰💞
