Up close and personal with an Indian chameleon. This species, Chamaeleo zeylanicus, is found across the Indian peninsula, and in Sri Lanka, but is not commonly seen - most likely due to its cryptic nature, and impressive colour-changing ability. Like all chameleons, it has clasping feet and a prehensile tail which help it navigate in preferred arboreal environments, and eyes which are able to move independently of one another. Suffice it to say that when viewing this chameleon in close proximity, the details like the shapes and colours of it's scales are truly remarkable. ---------- šŸ“ø: andBeyond Naturalist @surya_ramachandran šŸŒ: India ---------- #seewhatliesbeyond #andbeyondtravel #india #travelinspiration #traveldeeper #discoverindia #chameleon #wildlife #wildlifephotography #safari #reptile
