Let’s talk about UPHOLDING CANCELLATION POLICIES! ⁣ ⁣ Cancellations are SO frustrating they can cost our businesses thousands of dollars a year! ⁣ I see lots of stylist posting about challenges with client dialogue & actually enforcing cancellation policies. ⁣ ⁣ One of biggest mistakes (in my opinion) is trying to collect payment after the missed appointment and before their next appointment! It runs a high risk of alienating the client & often makes it really hard to collect any payment! ⁣ The main goal of a good cancellation policy is to prevent cancellations not just to charge for them. By creating a system where the client agrees to the charge and you have a form of payment on hand you’re actually discouraging cancellations not just penalizing them.⁣ ⁣ What to do:⁣ ✍️ put your policy in writing & get it signed as acknowledgment of understanding. Be clear and respectful. ⁣ ⁣ 💳 keep a working credit card on file with the signed policy. (One of the benefits of taking a deposit is that it insures that the credit card is functioning). ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ With clear & respectful communication, cancellation policies can be easy to uphold, & can help create better relationships with our clients! ⁣ But PLEASE BE SURE TO HOLD A FORM OF PAYMENT UP FRONT! ⁣ Questions? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼⁣ ⁣ xoxo ⁣ -C💗
