The making of The Dress 🪡🪡🪡 I knew when I began the search for my dream dress that I wanted something romantic, timeless and classic. I also really wanted to buy from a female founded British designer, so when I started talking to @emma_beaumont_atelier it was an absolute dream come true. My only worry with designing something was that it would be an intimating process, but it was the complete opposite! Emma made me feel so relaxed, she totally understood the vision and completely over delivered with the end result. 🕊 The dress took over 120 hours to complete from start to finish and was made over 6 fittings, including 2 toiles and 4 fittings of the actual dress. 🪡 We chose a base silk organza with a subtle floral print, and then Emma suggested adding beautiful floral embroidery all over the bodice, straps and dress which I immediately fell in love with. She fit the corset and skirt and together we placed the embroidery on the dress to shape the bust and body. 🤍 For the skirt Emma used layers of organza rather than a solid lining to give the dress transparency and lightness which brings out the print on the organza and the embroidery of the flowers without it feeling heavy / big. The skirt has 5 layers of organza which gave it the whimsical feel, she used about 30 meters of organza in total. 🤍 The sleeves were something we actually only added on a few fittings in, I’m so glad we did! She made them so beautifully, covered in the floral embroidery, with buttons up the wrist and made to fit my arms perfectly - I felt so chic. 🥹 Emma cleverly made them with hidden poppers so I was able to take them off, which I did after the drinks reception. (It was so hot and also gave me more freedom to move and I loved changing the look slightly for dinner.) 🤍 The veil we used the embroidered flowers around the edge to pair with the dress and cascade from the fingertips, it completed the ceremony look perfectly. 🤍 It was an incredible experience and one that I will cherish forever.
