“Leave the world a better place than the way you found it”🤍 . . I’m thrilled to announce that my #beautywithapurpose project is on the issue of human trafficking! I will be launching this project under the campaign #stampouthumantrafficking where I will be raising awareness about this subject matter and shedding light on the issues surrounding this topic that others may not be aware of. Human trafficking is the unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work or service, typically in the form of forced labour or sexual exploitation. This is a heinous crime that has millions of people around the globe suffering at the hands of it. In order for us to effect change and bring light to this issue, the conversation has to be started and my campaign will be a catalyst for that conversation. Over the next few weeks I’ll be raising awareness about the issue of human trafficking on my social media platforms and I’ll be hosting a very exciting event that I will be releasing details about in the coming days so stay tuned. I will also be raising funds for @ruhamaagency. This is a Dublin-based NGO that works on a national level with women affected by prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation as well as victims of sex trafficking. They have done tremendous work in providing support services to victims of sex trafficking and prostitution such as counselling, housing and accommodation support and legal support too. Through partnering with them I believe that we can push forward this issue and have the necessary conversations which can enable us all to combat this crime. Victims of human trafficking immediately are objectified the minute they enter this scheme and they lose their right to freedom of speech and the freedom to live their lives. It is high time that we work together as a community and society to provide a platform where we give a voice to the voiceless.
