Plan on experiencing a busy park during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Based on the past few years, we expect our busiest days to be between December 25 - January 1. You can enjoy greater solitude and better parking by arriving early, being flexible, and exploring less popular sights. The Chisos Mountains, Hot Springs Historic Area, Boquillas Canyon, and Santa Elena Canyon parking lots can become full during peak hours each day. If possible, avoid these areas between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Explore great hikes elsewhere in the park such as the Rio Grande Village Nature Trail, Ward Spring, Lower Burro Mesa Pouroff, or Mule Ears Trail for great views and fewer crowds. 📷: NPS/CA Hoyt #bigbend #bigbendnationalpark
