The Hurtbook - A piece commissioned for @alexvaughn by Rafael.V ❤️‍🩹📓👹 Recently I was asked by @graduationrcrds to create something unique for Alex’s latest release, The Hurtbook 🖊 In the time I spent creating this, I took my time to absorb the essence of this project. I wanted to truly understand the story that lay between the pages of The Hurtbook 💔 There’s pain poured into this paper, and sorrow sewn within the songs we hear. We all have a story, yet this story of hurt is a small look into a life we never knew existed 👁 With so many emotions and accounts of affliction, it’s hard to not see her art as a piece of her humanity. To be human is to create. To be human is to share stories. To be human is to attempt to relate. To be human is to share our pain 🫂 It was an honour to be able to sample a slice of Alex’s humanity, and an even greater privilege to be able to interpret it with my hands, into the art you see on your screen today 🎨 Long live The Hurtbook, Until next time... 👹
