“My metabolism changed and it’s much harder to get in shape now” Have you ever told yourself this? I hear it all the time “Back when I was in school, I could eat whatever I want and never got fat” Sounds familiar? It’s true. Our body changes as we get older. However, it’s not as significant as you might think What people forget to consider is that the real change is in activity level. Fat loss is simply an equation of energy going in vs energy going out (measured in calories) Knowing that, think about the calories that go out now vs when you were in school Walking from one classroom to the next with a big book bag on your shoulders, followed by activities with your friends, playing some sports on the weekend, going from one party to the next Now you’re probably sitting behind a desk for 8 hours, then in your car for 1, then on the couch watching netflix for 3. Combine this with a poor diet and of course you’re going to get fat It’s often not your metabolism, it’s the lack of activity That doesn’t mean the clock isn’t ticking. Every day you wait with making changes to your lifestyle is making it more difficult to eventually get there Partly because of metabolism, but mostly because of your habits.
