TBT to a set I did on May 1, 2003. I was halfway through a fun joke about my mom’s voicemails when an audience member saw that Bush announced we won the Iraq war. I was so happy that we'd won. But, also, I didn't get to finish the set because of it. I guess the lesson is that sometimes you just have to let the country celebrate a really nice moment and it's not about our jokes.
