It’s with the saddest of hearts that we wanted to let people know we got the news today that our darling Fox has cancer. We thought she had injured her back because she was acting as if in pain recently. The vet did an X-ray for her spine but were shocked when they saw her entire body had cancer. Apparently it’s in her bones as well and deteriorated one of her vertebrae hence the “injury.” Unfortunately the cancer has spread too much that it’s terminal and there’s no treatment. Our only real option is to manage her pain until she hits the point we have to put her down. As someone who myself has had a lifetime of pain there’s no way I want to have her suffer needlessly, so now we’ll just wait until she seems like it’s her time to go. In the mean time she’ll get every treat she could ever want and endless cuddles. She’s only 8, so it’s not fair that her time is being cut short, but man this dog had a life that’s for sure. She’s traveled across the country by both car and plane, met countless celebs while on set, even got immortalized with her own Kings of Con character card. She is universally loved by all who have met her. I know a lot of people have met Fox while working on set with me through the years, so I wanted to let people know in advance. I don’t want advice, I don’t want a second opinion, and I don’t want a phone call to talk about it. I just didn’t want to have to tell people this again and again and again because a lot of people usually ask how’s the pups are (which I do love, I just can’t right now.) We’re obviously devastated at the news, but at least we get to cherish the time we have left with our girl. Doc says it could be weeks, maybe months if we’re lucky. The best, gentlest, most smartest dog ever. Love you little pup.
