Why am I still up? Oh yeah for a nightcap 🥃 Another round of #HandcraftAfterDark coming in hot. If you’re new here, this is the part of the night when the lights get lower, the drinks get quieter, and the recipes stay simple. Four ingredients or fewer, always stirred, always a nightcap. I’ve been exploring some of the lesser-known stirred classics lately, and this one keeps finding its way back into my glass. It’s elegant, surprisingly balanced, and just interesting enough to make you wonder why more people aren’t talking about it. I first discovered this recipe through @robertsimonson, who wrote about its creator, Dan Greenbaum, and the now-closed NYC bar The Beagle. Consider this my little nudge to bring it back into rotation. Cheers, y’all. — REMEMBER THE ALIMONY — 3⁄4 oz 22.5 ml London Dry Gin 11⁄4 oz 37.5 ml Fino Sherry 11⁄4 oz 37.5 ml Cynar Orange Twist (garnish) — Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until chilled and strain over a large cube in a rocks glass while expressing an orange twist. Garnish with the twist. Cheers.
