I’m going to do a whole essay on this because the optimization of beauty is getting *out of control* and I myself take responsibility for feeding into it in the past. The reality is genetics (hi, melanation is huge part of this) and your personal soup of DNA is going to have a massive impact on aging. Can some skincare products protect or slow the process of collagen and elasticity loss? Wrinkles? Pigmentation? Absolutely. I’m not giving up skincare anytime soon. I don’t know what the future holds for me, hopefully more life. I’m also pulling back my attachment to my phone and the kinds of media that I’m consuming. All this to say, I hope for a future where women don’t get judged whatever their decisions are. Until then, it’s incredibly complicated and a roller coaster to age, everyone’s experience is different, 35 is not Methuselah and we’re all here living another day so let’s rejoice in that. #skincare #beauty #aging #skincare101
