THIS IS A MENTOR APPRECIATION POST! Ever since graduating from beauty school, I was on the hunt to find the perfect mentor for me. Early on I knew hair wasn’t going to just be a job for me. I needed to find someone who had the drive and ambition that I so desperately felt myself. Over the last year and a half while on that journey I’ve met so many amazing stylists that have helped me get to where I am today. And then there’s Becky... Ever since she’s taken the role of my mentor, she has flipped what I thought I knew about hair and turned it right-side up. Her motivation and drive for her career has made me view the potential for my career in a whole new light. She is always pushing me to work on things that make me feel uncomfortable, building me up not only as a stylist but as a human being, and teaching me to be a bad bitch one teasylight at a time. This photo is from the most recent model day that I do with Becky. This is a color that I did in the past and it’s haunted me since. Going into this I was scared, nervous, and felt defeated.
