⁣Humanity under the lens of social media, labeling, various experiences, curation, storytelling, will have you believe that your version of humanity — and who you are — is distorted because it’s complex and full of duality and not simple enough to ever fit into or relate to a label or visual representation. But it’s not about you. You’re human. And humans are as complex as can be. There is no fixing needed for feeling human — that is what you are. I forget that sometimes, and beat myself up for feeling alone in my human experience, or disconnected from the messaging (or lack of messaging, or clouding of messaging via overloaded media/information) surrounding what it means to be human. And, I mean, it’s hard to encapsulate even an ounce of what the human experience looks like, visually. And what it would look like, visually, or emotionally, would be so different and varied for everyone. I’m not throwing blame. But since I can’t take a photo of what it feels like (to feel heavy in my own humanity), I sometimes like to doodle my experiences — a mix of words and visual (usually @jubileesees). Here’s one based off of a hike Scott and I went on the other day, where I broke down and Scott gave me the space to do so. And sometimes that’s all we need — space to feel heard and understood. Space to process. I hope I can create that space in this IG world. You are not alone. ⠀ ⠀ I would also like to take a moment to praise my beautiful partner and husband Scott. He has always regarded my being with gentleness, and the gratitude I have for him and his love is overwhelming. ❤️⠀ ⠀
