Ellen Chappell (@ellenlchappell) is a photographer based in Oregon who was a former scientist and program manager. Ellen's love for photography is rooted in the fact that she feels “present, and it is a way of sharing what I love. I am driven to capture the beauty and power I see in horses, in people, and in the world around me. I can’t think of a better way to do this than with a camera. For me, it's about what’s on the inside as much as the outside. I am always looking for certain moments and expressions when I shoot.” Ellen’s advice to the #SonyAlphaFemale community is “Learn the basics and learn your gear. Learn to edit so you can shoot in RAW and have more flexibility. When you master these, you can focus more on what’s happening in front of your camera and be more creative. The learning and improving never stops. Get out with your camera as much as you can.”
