"A drop of the heart's blood of Mother Earth"" is how a ruby has been described in the Orient. The Indians have called the ruby Ratnanayaka, the lord of the gemstones. The name ruby comes from the Latin word ruber, which means red. It is favorite gem among those in love, inspiring more emotion than almost any other stone. In fact some ancient cultures believed that rubies, as well as other gemstones, grew on trees, just like fruit. The rubies would begin budding as small white gems, and would slowly grow and ripen, turning red in the light of the sun. When the ruby was saturated with red color, it was ready to be plucked. This ruby is also very special - it’s color is natural, as it has not been treated with heat to achieve this mesmerizing color. With every new angle you can see deeper into it it’s facets. Every project I’m lucky enough to work on is a journey and this one was no different - it was a fun process. ✨ working with @tompaul Starting with a first round of drawings and through conversations and sketches we came upon a design with a story to highlight this gorgeous stone we found and symbolize their love. Set high enough that the light can pass through from the sides and below with tiny diamonds to twinkle around it. @cassiedamsel an incredible woman with two beautiful humans in her crew - her husband and son illustrated with the diamond stunners that encircle and sparkle and dance along with her in the center. Jewelry is best and coolest when it’s made and given with intention. Made with all the feeling and details of the person and their lifestyle taken into account. Let’s make a token of your life together for your human. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ @cassiedamsel @tompaul3 #customisbest#lovestories#aintlovegrand#rubyengagementring#madeinnyc#nyc#brooklyn#engagementring
