The vibrant colours of the traditional Thimphu Drubchen in Bhutan. Thimphu Drubchen (or Dromchey) is a one-day festival performed at the Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu, Bhutan. In 1710, the festival was started by a man named Kuenga Gyeltshen after he experienced visions of the Buddhist goddess Pelden Lhamo during his meditations. Now, every year, people from all over Bhutan congregate to honour this age-old tradition, wearing their finest customary clothing, and performing traditional dances.
