I had a pumping session earlier today and this was all I could pump after trying for 20 minutes. I was devastated. But then I remembered that this is not a measure of my self worth or my worth as a mother. It’s also not a good indication of whether I’m producing milk or not. The amount that you pump is not a good indicator of the amount of milk your baby is able to get. Pumping doesn’t always reflect supply. And even if I wasn’t pumping or producing enough, there are many great alternatives to breastmilk. Even if I wasn’t producing enough, my baby is happy and healthy. My worth as a mom isn’t measure in ounces.
