Today Shinnecock celebrates Indigenous Peoples' Day. We celebrate and honor the 574 federally recognized tribes and the 400 plus tribes, bands, clans, and families who are still not recognized by the United States government. We honor our ancestors, our resilience, our joy, our history, our foods, our languages, our music, our art, our culture. We reflect on our past with pride and look to our future with hope.
