Every release day is special, but even with all the great records we have put out so far, this drop feels a little sweeter. It’s not just because ShrapKnel is a homegrown project that we all took a chance on way back when, or because we’ve been friends and collaborators since before the group was even an idea. To be real, not that long ago we didnt know if there was going to be another #ShrapKnel album and we didn’t care because we were just praying for Castro to make it through what he had to get through. So when we say we at Backwoodz are proud of this record...we love all our kids, but being able to see this one walk across that graduation stage is very emotional. So, without further ado, here it is; @CurlyCastro and @PremRock return after two solo journeys and a bevy of side projects to demonstrate their unique form and function. #MetalLung is ShrapKnel’s respiratory system. A living, breathing metallic organism, posing as a ‘hood, 4 street corners, and brutalist scrapers of sky, born to compete with Babel. The vast majority sonically constructed to scale by the tireless @SteelTippedDove with some honorary foremanship by @ChldActr and @OlofMelander.
