Back when I was a bartender, I always thought it was strange that the wine and cocktail/spirits worlds were so segregated - it seemed the more you chased knowledge in one, the farther away from the other you got. When I was an ambassador I started doing whiskey training specifically for Somms, and when I began creating the curriculum for Campari Academy back in 2019 I wanted to expand that to the Italian portfolio in an effort to make education on spirits and cocktails more accessible and universally understood within the wine world... I mean, have you ever met a Somm that doesn’t like a Negroni? (Ok, ok, I know you’re out there - it’s just a joke!) . Blah blah, pandemic, blah blah - here we are!
