One of the most extraordinary and meaningful evenings of my life! It was a gathering of feminist icons and people who’s lives are devoted to pursuing a better tomorrow. It was inspiring, powerful and invigorating giving me and everyone else there a surge of energy to fight for what’s right. As most of you know I have never posted a single political post but to me these issues transcend politics or political parties. This is at the very heart of feminism. At the very heart of a woman’s right to control her own body. I lived in a world where my body wasn’t my own, my biology defined my destiny. We cannot allow that to occur here. Thank you to @newyorkstateag , who is not only brilliant, extraordinary and inspiring , but who’s passion, determination and truth can change the world. Thank you to @cecilerichards who is the revolutionary Creator of @plannedparenthood . To Francine Coeytaux who’s invented the miracle @plancpills that could forever alter how pregnancies are terminated, to @DoloresHuerta who has done so much for this country it’s almost unfathomable! She stayed with us until 3am, encouraging us and guiding us and then got on a bus to appear before congress today, to @Shainataub who’s play Suffs gave me courage and strength when I needed it most. To @egavinp who organized this entire event , and to my sister @Kateriggnyc who was the MC for the entire event and is just an extraordinary freedom fighter, comedian, producer and soo much more. And last but not least, to @betoorourke , who to me is all that stands between us and reversion to the middle ages. Without Beto, we will lose all the advances that women have made in this country over the last hundred years and more. This isn’t about Texas. If these laws are allowed to stand in Texas they will spread like cancer all over America. Every woman ( and person ) in America should help Beto in whatever way they can because he is our beacon of hope and the safeguard of our freedom.
