Laquan Austion & team @thejuneteenthfoundation .. my long time brothers @johnburnsdc @mikemburns @theburnsbrothers .. my “Mama Freddi” @repwilson presented me & thusly my family....with a Juneteenth honor for my work in the community. 🙏🏾 In my speech i stated that i will accept this humbling praise as a challenge from this esteemed group of folks for me & the fellow honorees to simply CONTINUE every effort we can to help make our country what the history books claim it to be. 👣 So on THIS day of equally CLAIMED freedom...i chose to post this special 1st annual event that took place in our Nation’s Capital....as #Juneteenth is the more appropriate Independence Day of our culture.
