The Tancredo Neves Pantheon of the Fatherland and Freedom (“Panteão da Pátria e da Liberdade Tancredo Neve”) is a monument dedicated to Brazilian heroes shortly after Tancredo Neves, the first democratically-elected Brazilian president, who passed away due to illness in 1985. The building is designed by (you guessed it) Oscar Niemeyer and symbolizes a dove, representing peace and democracy. And just like Brasilia’s famous cathedral (check out the previous post!), the stained glass of the Pantheon was designed by Marianne Peretti. #brasilia #brazil #brasil #oscarniemeyer #athosbulcao #marianneperetti #modernism #modernistarchitecture #travelguide #southamerica #visitbrasil #wheretogonext #thespacesilike #tgpguide #therhapsode #TLPicks #worthtravelingfor #condenasttraveller #iamatraveler #afarmag #travly #forbestravelguide #archdaily #archifolk #visualtravellerart #tinyatlas
