Mumster, Dadcula, skeleton. Baby Vida missed the family photos this year, was busy getting her beauty sleep. And she had the cutest Halloween get up, we never got to wear ☺️⁣ ⁣ This year Luca understood a little more of the story behind Halloween, yet still I’m slowly introducing the “trick-or-treating” aspect of it. Because of his life threatening allergies to a long list of 8 things... little joys like this are heart breaking for us. ⁣ Instead we rode around in our decorated golf cart and looked at all the Halloween decorations and waved hi to the little kids walking on the street. We were hoping to see plenty homes with a teal pumpkin out front indicating they had non candy treats, in the hopes of walking Luca up to the door, for that experience, yet we didn’t see, not one! ⁣ I will say I was quite disappointed in Arcadia. I WILL be that mom handing brochures to all the homes we stop at next year to educate them on the #tealPumpkinProject 😅 Anyhow, I had his own @yumearth lollipops on hand for his own special treat. ⁣ I cried a handful of times seeing how incredible people were to make this holiday special, but also cried knowing my son can’t freely enjoy this holiday like the normal kids (crying now). ⁣ The important part, is Luca had the BEST day ever. Best month, celebrating all things Halloween. ⁣ There is a reason God eases us parents into these situations. I know next year he will be even more aware of his caution around candy etc and hoping my mama heart is a tad bit stronger as well, to help turn light on this fun time. ⁣ ⁣ 1 in 13 kids have a severe life threatening food allergy.
