And now another chance to start again. If I’m being honest with myself, this past year was incredibly hard. The challenges with infertility & trying to get the homestead built have been painfully difficult. But you know what? The simple truth is, things go wrong in life. And while sometimes it feels like it’s breaking you, maybe its just forging you into something stronger, something more resilient and more compassionate than what you would have been capable of otherwise. When a caterpillar spins its cocoon and tucks itself in for a metamorphosis, it literally becomes a pile of liquid goo before it reassembles itself into a butterfly. Right now, life might feel like straight goo. But we have to get through the goo to get to the wings. Where we can do things we never thought possible. That little caterpillar never realized there would be a time when they would defy gravity and soar above the world below them when they crawled into that cocoon and fell apart. We can’t know what’s at the end of our struggles when we’re going through them, but we can listen to our gut, to the fierce little fire we hold inside, and carry on as best we can. So here I am, holding onto my little stick of dried herbs from the garden, and wiping the palette clean. Wishing you all a wonderful 2023, and thank you for being a part of this community, my friend.
