The prevailing paradigm has NORMALIZED sickness: according to the CDC, 51.8% of U.S. adults have at least 1 of the 10 most common chronic diseases, while nearly 30% of U.S. adults have 2 or more. The prevailing paradigm has NORMALIZED the consumption of fake foods: nearly 60% of the average American’s diet is now comprised of ultra-processed foods. And according to the Journal of the American Medical Association, poor diet is the leading cause of our epidemics of chronic diseases. The prevailing paradigm has NORMALIZED drug use: researchers at Georgetown University note that approximately 66% of U.S. citizens are on prescription drugs. And fentanyl overdose (a synthetic opioid brought to market by the combined efforts of several drug companies) is now the leading cause of death for people between the ages of 18 - 45. The prevailing paradigm has NORMALIZED the ability of drug companies to exorbitantly profit from pain, disease, dysfunction, and mental anguish. The prevailing paradigm has NORMALIZED the practice of drug companies committing crimes and killing vast numbers of human beings without any meaningful ramifications: The EJS Center for Ethics at Harvard states that FDA approved drugs cause almost 3 million hospitalizations EVERY YEAR. The researchers reported that nearly 130,000 people are killed EVERY YEAR from pharmaceutical drugs prescribed to them. But, they state, “The FDA does not acknowledge these facts and instead gathers a small fraction of the cases.” The only way this continues to happen is by having a healthcare system that normalizes corruption. For instance, Pfizer was the first drug company to be convicted of a RICO charge. RICO litigation (Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations Act) are laws that were created to help combat organized crime syndicates. Yet, most people are in aware of this while Pfizer continues making extraordinary profits (even though they’ve been CAUGHT committing several crimes since). I’m not going to stand idly by while this continues to happen. I’m not built like that. I was born, at this time, to be a DANGER to the prevailing paradigm and to empower our communities to take control of their health.
