Remember our previous post? @mrbensibthorpe captured the first wash of his DENHAM X @grivecbros RAZOR jeans on the streets of Daikanyama, Tokyo. ⁠ ⁠ The idea of “Street Washing” was born in the small garden behind our store at Prinsengracht 495, where we used a bathtub to wash jeans in a cold or lukewarm bath. We developed our own soap with pure natural enzymes — no chemicals or perfumes — and hand-washed the jeans inside out. Then we’d let them naturally hang dry outside so that the fabric fibres and yarns wouldn’t break. This is the best way to create a natural, worn-in patina on your virgin jeans.
