!?️Have you ever had to fire a client!?️⁣😬 ⁣ Let’s talk a little bit about boundaries & deciding to no longer service a client...⁣ ⁣ I’m sure we’ve all been there at least once. ⁣ And it can be one of the hardest conversations to have. I wanted to share an experience I had a few years ago...⁣ ➡️Swipe to full email as well as the clients reply... ➡️ ⁣ ⁣ Here are some of my key learning when it comes to boundary setting with clients:⁣ ⁣ 1. Trust yourself. I cannot tell you how many times in the consultation I knew that I was not the right match for my client, but I continued with the service anyways. I learned the hard way that it’s much more important to set boundaries upfront than try to backtrack. It’s only hurts the relationship on both sides. ⁣ ⁣ 2. Know what your boundaries actually are, and be willing to communicate them. If we have the expectation but we’re not willing to communicate it it can build up resentment & ruin a relationship. But first we have to understand what our boundaries actually are, & what the outcome is when the boundaries are overstepped. If we have this clearly outlined in our head then it makes the decision uphold a boundary so much easier. ⁣ ⁣ For instance in the example in the email above, I gave this client three separate appointments to see if there was any change possible, and the outcome was the same every single time. This established a pattern of behavior that clearly communicated to me that she don’t respect my time my skill or my professional opinion. I didn’t take it personal, it was just truly a mismatch for both of us. ⁣ ⁣ 3. Good customer service doesn’t rely on low boundries. What we allow will continue. If we establish clear boundaries at the beginning of our client relationships, communicate them clearly and kindly, & hold ourselves to the same standards we can have really amazing relationships with all of our clients! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣I hope this helps!
