The federal Respect for Marriage Act will repeal the infamous Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and prevent MAGA judges from eroding LGBTQ marriage when it’s passed. I was honored to celebrate with the lead sponsors of the bill @senschumer and @repjerrynadler at a rally at the @lgbtcenternyc this month. I’m grateful to my colleagues Assemblymember @danny.odonnell_ and @sentomduane for passing Marriage Equality in New York. I’m honored to have built on their pioneering work in the Senate by passing legislation to help implement New York’s Marriage Equality Law (S.300) and signed into law in 2019.
