3 things to focus on if you want to build muscle and burn fat: 1. EXERCISE TECHNIQUE & EXECUTION ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ I see you second guessing yourself on the descent of a squat.. โ€œAm I doing this correctly!?โ€™ โ€œAm I going to hurt myself!?โ€ โ€œDo I look silly!?โ€ โ€œIs my bar placement correct!?โ€ โ€œAm I going to the correct depth!?โ€ Etc, etc.. Without proper technique, youโ€™ll lack CONFIDENCE. Without confidence, youโ€™ll never put in enough effort to achieve results which leads me to my next point: 2. INTENSITY ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿš€ Hypertrophy or building muscle mass comes from 3 mechanisms: Mechanical Tension / Muscle Damage / Metabolic Stress - these can be explained further in a future post but basically, you need to provide enough stress via intensity of exercise to warrant biological adaptation - your body will protect itself from these stressors by growing larger and stronger; provided enough of my 3rd point: 3. RECOVERY ๐Ÿ˜ด You knew it was coming. Sleep and nutrition ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผโœ”๏ธ Sleep is basically the greatest performance enhancer we have available to us.
