Hi! It'a been awhile, much longer than I'd planned, but it's been a distracting 2 months since my last post. For now, here's Bob (from Bob's Big Boy), spotted in Pasadena two weeks before and two miles from the Eaton Fire. More on the fires later. I wondered why Bob wasn't in the back seat or if he serves as a comical theft deterrent. It seems like driving with Bob isn't as fun as it might look. Then, three weeks after I took this photo, director David Lynch died. And believe it or not, he was known to be a big fan of Bob's in Burbank, going there every day for a few years. Steve @colorbyspiegel has recent photos of the popup memorial at the Burbank restaurant. Lynch films were the first to freak me out in a WTF-just-happened way. Then in 2020 he began reading the daily L.A. weather forecast on KCRW, adding his thought of the day or a random observation. 2020 was an "unusual" year, and I looked forward to his odd, upbeat yet deadpan reports every day. So, RIP Mr. Lynch. You were strangely compelling.
