America. I weep for us, I weep for our misguided Christian values that are now steeped more in fear and control than the love that Jesus showed the world. Flying our bullshit righteousness under the banner of heaven as we try to control a woman's choices about her own body. I weep for this, and the God I believe in weeps next to me. I weep for us, letting the sociopathic capitalism of the gun industry manipulate our democracy. I loathe our feckless representatives that have let an industry that catapulted fear mongering, conspiracy theories and perpetuated violence to puppet them and block sensible gun safety policy for over 25 years. Cowards all. Whatever morality or basic human decency they started with has been poisoned by cowardly self preservation. I weep because I love this country and we are better than this... And for the record this is not pessimism spiraling into apathy, this is rage driving into action. Action for my family, friends, children and anybody that doesn't feel that their values are represented or echoed in this America.
