Amistad is excited to introduce our Robert F. Smith Intern for 2022, Saleana Copeland! This summer at the Center, Saleana is working with our AV department to help digitize interviews conducted by Tom Dent between 1978 and 1983. Her work will expand virtual access to the histories of Mississippi civil rights movement workers. In Saleana's recent Amistad blog post, she shares how excited she's been about this project as it affirms her belief that "to preserve and illuminate marginalized history is essential to our understanding of the American Experience."
