On 20th September, an Ebola outbreak was declared in Uganda. Since then, MSF teams have been working alongside the Ministry of Health to support the response, applying our experience from other Ebola outbreaks. ____ In addition to our outreach activities to help prevent the spread of this virus, MSF teams are focussed on reducing mortality. Our teams have built two 40-bed Ebola Treatment Centres in Mubende, an eight-bed Ebola Treatment Unit in Madudu and an isolation unit in Kasanda, close to the epicentre of the outbreak. Other ETCs are currently under construction. From our experience with other Ebola outbreaks, we know the sooner the patients are admitted to a treatment centre, the better their chances of survival.
