Plans have been unveiled to overhaul London's Liverpool Street station and construct two new towers in the air space above it. Under the proposals, designed by @herzogdemeuron, a new, much larger, mezzanine level will be added, significantly increasing its floor area and helping to ease congestion. There'll also be 60% more ticket barriers than in the current station. . It's intended that the two new towers above Liverpool Street will offer offices and a hotel respectively. The move follows several other London stations that have given over the air space above their concourses for the construction of high-rise towers, including Charing Cross and London Bridge, which is famously topped by the Shard. .
