Hi there! I'm Lisa, the owner and fearless leader behind The Wedding Artists Co. If you're new here, it's nice to "meet" you :) I first got into artist management around 15 years ago. At that time, I was living in NYC and I worked for an international artists' management firm working with commercial photographers. I managed big-budget advertising projects with clients such as Nike, VW, Pepsi, etc. There, I fell in love with the process of working with a photographer to help them get what they wanted and support them in their creative journey. Sometimes it was my job to protect them, sometimes, it was my job to push them, and sometimes it was my job to be an ear and listen and support. It was immensely gratifying, and I still get the same rush of excitement when an artist in my group lands a job they were hoping to get. It's a bit of an addiction, really. Before my time in NY as an agent, I was a humanities major and amateur photographer living and working in San Francisco. My love for literature, art, and storytelling grew there and fuelled my passion for what I do today. I love the behind-the-scenes of working with artists and looking at the photos they create for our clients. They're little time capsules the families will treasure forever, and that's no small thing to be a part of. And of course, in addition to those "once-in-a-lifetime-documentary moments," I have to admit I'm a complete sucker for good design. It's a dream to see the various ways people express themselves and their style through their wedding design (and don't get me started on the dresses!). It is such a fun part of the equation. That's the glamorous side. My real-life day-to-day consists of chugging coffee, writing emails and making phone calls- always barefoot in a pair of jeans with my hair up in a bun, definitely no makeup. It's a bit of a grind, but, I gotta say, I love it! And I love my artists too. Shout out to my peeps and big love to our planners and clients. You're THE best.
