Moments at the Mint— Read Below! What a privilege it was for us to stumble across such an inspirational moment here at the Mint! Rhonda Hornbacher, and husband David, stopped in at Mint Museum Uptown to examine a special piece in our permanent collection that was crafted by her father, Roger Hicks, who she was separated from at an early age. In searching for her father for many years, she discovered that he had a piece of work here and wanted to know more. So, we invited her in and had the face jug prepared for her to finally come face to face with. Rhonda, who is visually impaired, examined the jug with her hands and explained how similar it was to the way she remembered her father’s work!
