Everything the light touches is mine! 🦁 Category is....@dragraceukbbc MUSICALS Runway and there’s no doubt I would be doing my all time favourite “The Lion King” As a child, The Lion King was my favourite movie and I would rewind the video cassette repeatedly watching the film until I eventually destroyed it. Till this day, I know every song, character, and damn nearly every word in the movie. Not sure how old I was, but in kindergarten I remember one of my teachers Miss Givans teaching us a dance rendition to Lion King. This was my first ever performance infront of a big audience alongside my class and it was to “The Circle of Life”. My entire class were all painted like lions and lionesses and we performed in the LB Scott Sports Auditorium in front of our families. Till this day I can vividly remember this as one of the most euphoric memories for me as a child. For my costume I decided to take it down the tribal route and expression of dance. I wanted a frayed and distressed tribal dress that entailed different animal prints of what you’d see in the African kingdom 🐆🐅🦓🦒 and decided to throw in some brown cow stunning for mama @iammoheart . The lion head was placed on my head as a metaphor for it being the ruler of the animal kingdom. Other accents such as pheasant feathers, beads, and straw were added as ode to References from African Tribes.
