HIRING “Composite seeks Senior or Mid-level Freelance Designer” Composite is looking to hire a freelance role that may evolve into a full-time position. The role is a designer, primarily graphic design, but with capability to flex between different disciplines within design. We are a small team that de-emphasizes strict roles, but this role might be considered a Senior or Mid-Level designer, depending on the person and experience level and/or demonstrated capability. We’re looking for someone who can hold up in an agency setting. The right person might be someone who is currently working at a large agency, but seeks deeper, more meaningful, intimate work, ultimately with more ownership over the things they create. General responsibilities & qualifications �for the position: · Collaborate closely with Creative Director & Art Director to execute visual identity concepts · Collaborate with Strategists and Copywriters to develop content in tandem with design · Be comfortable with art direction, design, & typographic research, both historical and contemporary · Be idealistic with prospective work but open to harsh client realism and constraints · Be able to defend and critique your own and others’ work on a conceptual level · Be bold enough to jump between and pull from disciplines or techniques you may be unfamiliar with – print, web & digital, packaging, systems, spatial, clothing, furniture, etc. · 3-6 years agency experience required · Web & Digital experience preferred · Packaging experience a plus · Motion and 3D experience a plus · NYC preferred, studio located in downtown Manhattan
