This photo in this post is a different side of me. We all have a beast , this is mine. I don’t apologize for my wild. I’m a good combination of sensitive and savage.
Summing up this weekend into one post would be impossible. There’s just not words for some of the memories that were made. Maybe that’s how it should be. Some things left for who were there.
A year ago I signed up for this hybrid race because it looked fun, and challenging. I knew it would take me out of the comfort zones of racing inside on a concrete pad running in circles from zone to zone knowing exactly what to expect in each zone.
I got what I was looking for. I was surprised, pushed, challenged, and tested. I did things I had never done before and things that were in my wheelhouse. I was made to use my cognitive abilities while pushing my body past its boundaries. Each day I woke up sore, exhausted, and ready to go again.
I gave EACH event my best no matter my placement.
I raced head to head with amazing women who inspired me to keep pushing harder , going faster, and not even considering giving up. There were so many amazing athletes at this event.
I classify myself as a “hybrid athlete.” I’m new to competing in hybrid events.
I was coming into an event where a lot of people didn’t know me. But I also knew I would leave known. I needed to prove to myself I am a true hybrid athlete. A well rounded athlete not just good at one or two things.
Hurricane, West Virginia has a part of me and I now carry apart of it with me. The community poured into this event. @fortitude187 and @emilee.kate have done great things for this community and I know that without them even saying it. The people told me with the way they love and support the Stevens. I want to quickly thank many of the companies who helped with equipment and media coverage.
