To say this week has been the greatest of my life would be a gross understatement. I can truly only imagine a few other life events that could top a week in Tuscany being celebrated and surrounded by my closest family and friends. I cried more in three days than probably the past three years, danced until my voice was gone and my legs were so stiff I couldn’t walk down the stairs for days, and smiled so hard I thought my cheeks would burst. People ask if as a wedding photographer I have become jaded by weddings. I always say that I truly think it’s impossible. It’s one of the greatest celebrations of the human experience, and the love and joy that comes along with it and is unmatched. I am so humbled by the time, expense and effort (and about five lost bags, multiple missed flights, trains, and innumerable other mishaps) that it took for so many people to be there for Nick and I. Having all of my favorite people in one place was an experience I will never forget. One of the greatest highlights was being tackled by one of my best friends who won the unfortunate title of worst travel experience and spent about 72 hours and a hellish journey to be there with us from Australia (@anettakirk, I love you forever). Our family/friends showered us with the most hilarious and tearful speeches and readings. My dad MCing (a gleefully held position) and our sibling’s speeches were truly one of the highlights of the entire week. @tomq3 @rashasasha @shea_quill @natasha.mullins @mad928 I spent the beginning of the week like every other bride I’ve ever worked with, having emotional breakdowns about the weather, incomplete projects, and all the things that people always tell me don’t matter after the fact. And they truly don’t. A week of thunderstorms on the forecast resulted in a 10 minute thunder shower before our first look, and literally every single one of my friends chipped in to resolve the problems that arose by being a “chill”, aka, negligent planner. @hchase23 knocked out of the park as her first wedding ever as an officiant, and it was so special being married by one of both of our oldest and best friends.
