Cadet Closeup..... Meet C4C Roy Castellanos, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas. Roy is the first in his family to serve in the military and attend college. He says #youracademy is providing him the chance to achieve the American dream while also granting him the opportunity of defending it. Roy says he knew the Academy was where he wanted to be the moment he learned about it. Although he knew getting in would be challenging, he says the application process helped teach him essential skills needed to excel in life. His advice to others dreaming of attending the Academy: "Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone to reach your dreams!" The first-generation American is studying political science and hopes to either become a pilot or an intelligence officer. He's involved in the History Club, Air Combat Club, Hispanic Heritage Club and Arnold Air Society. He's proud of his Mexican-American heritage as he says it gives him plenty of role models to look up to and legacies to uphold. #usafa2026 #strengthindiversity #hispanicheritagemonth
