I’m trying to find the words but it’s so difficult when you’re blinded by such grief and anger. How do you sufficiently address something so horrific? He says it all. I am absolutely terrified for our American youth, who aren’t guaranteed the opportunity to grow up. We cannot grow numb to this, this isn’t normal and has to end. I am so sick and tired of hearing “thoughts and prayers” from our elected officials who simultaneously do nothing to enact stricter gun laws. Those who stand in the way are complicit. I am heartbroken for the 21 families who didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to their loved ones today, and for the 19 children who never made it to the age 12. Why time and time again our country refuses to protect the lives of children, I will never understand.
