school’s been stressful but i’m glad to be able to practice something other than marimba upper divisional just ended so i can focus in on recital rep for next semester; i’ve been able to explore more diverse repertoires this semester so i’m excited for all the new pieces i’ve added :) this is the first movement from hamil el-dabh’s “in search of three goddesses” definitely an extremely intricate and lyrical solo compared to other timpani solo’s i’ve played NOTES. + tuning scheme: staying within tempo framework during glissandi and making glisses audible + articulation variation, creating more timbre and color to match mood and character + keeping the groove between phrases, trying not to get on top of the beat too much /// #percussion #percussionist #timpani #dresdentimpani #jacobsschoolofmusic #iubloomington
