Verrocchio was one of the leading artists of late 15th-century Florence. He is mainly celebrated as a sculptor and painter. Although a number of important painters trained in his studio, Verrocchio is most known for his influence and training of that of Leonardo da Vinci. As a polymath I’ve always admired and idolized Da Vinci, having a urge to learn multiple things in life. When I was looking to grow my business and professional name, I felt the nomenclature of Polymath or Da Vinci to be either too on the nose, or played out. However, as much as we admire the greatest, I often times find myself wondering about their mentors, coaches, influences. Verrocchio remained a soft whisper in the back of my mind, and when it came time to really choose an identity I knew it was time for Verrocchio to take center stage. I wrote it down on a sticky note, stuck it center wall of my desk at the time, and proceeded to breathe life into it. I contacted a friend of mine, a very talented Italian graphic designer and artist, Noah, and we put of heads together on creating what is now the logo and emblem for Verrocchio Studio! They say “Start where you are, with what you have, even if it’s only an idea.”
