Walking Two Worlds PREMIERING AT TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL😭❤️ I am beyond excited and honored to share this. We have been working in this film for 3 years(since before my modeling career), and I’m very vulnerable, raw, and it captures my growth within my advocacy work into modeling, and trying to navigate two worlds, one being my cultures and way of life and the other being this fast pace high fashion world. Creating this was such a beautiful experience and I couldn’t be more thankful to those that made this happen. Mahsi’choo 🥹❤️ With the threat of oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Yukon Flats along the Yukon River, Indigenous communities face threats to their ways of life that are dependent upon healthy lands and waters, food security and identity. Fueled by an unwavering love and responsibility for the land, Han Gwich’in 19-year old, Quannah Chasinghorse, and her mother, Jody Potts, are taking a stand to defend their sacred homelands. This documentary film underscores their spiritual connection to the land and animals and how defending the sacred is critical for the healing journey of the mother-daughter duo, Jody Potts and Quannah Chasinghorse, two powerful Han Gwich’in women, in the decades-long, intergenerational fight to protect the Arctic. The film gives an intimate and honest glimpse into the life of Quannah, as she pursues and achieves her dreams as an Indigenous supermodel, breaking barriers of representation, while walking in two worlds: her Indigenous way of life and high fashion. By showing the depths of Quannah and Jody’s profound relationship to one another and the land, the urgency of the threats of both oil drilling and climate change, the film will inspire audiences to reflect on their relationships to community and what it means to have an unwavering sense of responsibility to protect the places we love.
