Notre Dame Academy juniors Madelyn, Megan, Hana and Natalie comprise a team that competed in the national American Rocketry Challenge in Virginia in May — a first for the school — and they're hoping to do the same in a few months. The all-girls rocketry team launched more than 10 years ago, according to the school's director of innovation, Manny Guardado. He's led the team for the past four years and says it never gets old when he sees the girls launch a rocket successfully. "Seeing their expression and knowing that those moments are the moments that are inspiring them to pursue the careers that they are interested in, that to me is probably the most meaningful one," he said.
