I’m going to make this as clear as I possibly can:
ULTRA-PROCESSED FOODS ARE THE LEADING KILLER IN OUR WORLD TODAY.
A massive meta-analysis published in The Lancet in 2019 titled “Health effects of dietary risks in 195 countries” examined the links between poor diet and the skyrocketing rates of chronic diseases in our world today. The scientists determined that poor diet kills 11 MILLION people around the world every year.
The researchers stated, “Our findings show suboptimal diet is responsible for more deaths than any other risks globally... highlighting the urgent need for improving diet across nations.”
Major media and our disease-care system won’t educate you about this fact. As much as I wish this weren’t true, it’s the situation we exist in.
We have a system of drug-care that makes hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars in revenue for pharmaceutical companies. It’s a system that DEPENDS on disease and ignorance to remain lucrative.
What sense does it make to cure diseases and help people remove the CAUSE of their illness when they can have a lifetime customer instead?
Because of these exuberant profits, drug companies have infiltrated essentially every arm of medical education and government regulation.
The might of processed food manufacturers in lobbying and government influence is only outmatched by the relentless incursion of drug companies.
In fact, as part of their strategy to reduce oversight and maximize profits, in the last 25 years the drug industry has spent 50% more on lobbying than any other industry in the U.S.
The drug industry spent an average of $450,000 on lobbying for each of the 535 members of Congress in the year and a half prior to the 2016 election. They also maintain three drug lobbyist for each member of Congress as well.
Meanwhile, we have well-meaning people in-fighting about what the best diet is or how helpful drugs can be in SOME instances... fighting about minutia, while nearly 60% of our society’s diet is made of ultra-processed foods!
We must come together and address the BIGGEST issues, which are the unrelenting influence of the drug industry and processed food companies within our government and healthcare system.
